Ship Her Son – “Soundtrack to the Daily Agenda”

I love the new album from Ship Her Son, titled Soundtrack to the Daily Agenda. This is the second full-length release from the post-industrial project led by Anton Shiferson, and if you’ve been following his work over the past few years, you’ll notice this one hits differently. It’s more intense, more grounded, and comes across with a sense of intention that feels built from real experiences.

This release is also his first one fully sung in Ukrainian, and that detail adds a new layer of directness. You can sense that the language choice wasn’t random, it fits. And with a lineup of guest vocalists from across Ukraine, the energy comes from a broader perspective, not just one point of view, and there’s Stepan Burban (Palindrom), Anton Slepakov, Eugene Tymchyk, Oleksandr Kuts, and Divuar. Their contributions bring a human edge to the project that feels genuine and present.

The album still sits within post-industrial, but this time it brings in elements that grind a bit harder. There are touches of noise-rock, ambient passages, and moments that echo punk and post-punk influences, the sound matches the mood the album captures. It’s honest in a way that doesn’t overexplain itself. If you haven’t checked out Ship Her Son before, I’d recommend going back to earlier releases like Essen or the Alles Wird Gut EP. They give more context to how this project has evolved without feeling repetitive.

And if you’re into music that reflects real life without needing to dress it up too much, this is worth your time. Follow Ship Her Son on Instagram, YouTube, or Bandcamp to stay updated on future releases. There’s clearly more to come.
