Kill Me Kate – “Kill Me Kate”

Kill Me Kate’s debut album took fifteen years to finish, and you can tell this wasn’t rushed. It’s raw, loud, and emotionally heavy in a way that feels real. This isn’t a polished, commercial release. It sounds like something made by people who had to live through a lot before they could finish it.

The band started back in high school and went through all kinds of chaos. There were name changes, new members, falling outs, and even years of silence. But somehow they circled back. One member even came back on a Megabus just to wrap up the vocals. It was recorded DIY-style in Buffalo with help from close friends, and you can hear that tight-knit energy in the music. If I have to pick just one favorite track, it will definitely be “My Name Is Horace”.

What I really love about the track is how honest it all is. There’s no filter on it. You can tell this record was made for the band more than anyone else. That’s probably why it hits the way it does. The riffs are sharp, the attitude is real, and the emotion is right at the surface. If you’re into punk with actual stories behind it, check this out. And definitely follow Kill Me Kate on social media to see what they’re working on next in 2025.
