Dan Cooney – “LOVE ME FOR WHO I COULD BE”

Dan Cooney’s new EP “LOVE ME FOR WHO I COULD BE” feels like a natural move for him. He worked with Joe Stewart, also known as Joe Tragedy from Shorebreak, and it’s clear the two have good chemistry. They spent time shaping these songs together, especially “WHO I COULD BE” and “LET GO”, which started from nothing and grew in the studio.
This project focuses fully on Dan’s alternative rock side. Before, he mixed different styles, but here he sticks with guitars, drums, and the kind of energy that suits him best. It sounds honest and comfortable, like he’s settled into what he really wants to make. If I had to pick just one favorite track, that would definitely be “NEXT SPRING”.
The artwork also marks a change. Instead of putting himself on the cover, he asked Sarah Pezzotti from The Mood Fits to take that role, and it gives the release a fresh look. The songs were recorded over the past year at Joe’s home studio, beginning with “THIS FEELING” in early 2024.
Dan has more shows coming up, including stops in New Jersey and New York. He’s clearly building momentum, so check out his pages and follow along for new music through the rest of 2025.
