Bliss Carmxn – “Caffeine Orange”

Bliss Carmxn’s new track, titled “Caffeine Orange”, and I’ve got to say, it’s a cool one to sink into. It’s his first release in over a year, and it feels like he’s come back with a sound that’s grown in a thoughtful way. The track starts in this calm, alt-pop space with some folk-leaning textures. When I decided to write about “Caffeine Orange”, I was 100% sure you would love it.

One thing that stood out to me is how the song was built. The synth-vibraphone loop at the center of it came from a mosaic Bliss photographed during a morning walk in southern England. That idea really adds to the atmosphere. It’s detailed and has a lot of personality without feeling overly polished. “Caffeine Orange” pulls in surreal visuals like lilacs and melting clouds to explore love in this hazy, in-between state, somewhere between memory and dream. It captures a feeling without trying too hard to explain it.

If you haven’t heard Bliss Carmxn’s earlier stuff, check out “Powder” or their EP “Hold My Hand and I’ll Hold Yours”. And definitely follow Bliss Carmxn on social media to stay in the loop on what’s coming next.
