Big O – “When it’s Not Said, But Done”

Big O has released a new album, “When it’s Not Said, But Done”. The London-based producer has been putting out music for a while, but this record feels different in a good way. He produced the entire thing himself, drawing inspiration from names like Madlib, Four Tet, J Dilla, and Kiefer. Even with those influences in mind, the project sounds personal and focused on his own style.

One track that really stuck with me is “Relaxing My Emotions”, it mixes Afrobeats, hip-hop, and R&B in a way that feels natural and unforced. It’s smooth, steady, and a little surprising compared to his earlier work. That track also reflects the idea behind the whole record, Big O pushing himself to try new things and letting the music speak without overexplaining it.

I also like that the entire project was recorded in his home studio in London. It gives the album a sense of honesty, like it was built in his own space without extra polish. And for anyone in London, he will be performing at Four Quarters on October 11th for Audio Arcade, which should bring these songs to life in a fun way. Follow Big O on socials to stay tuned for more in 2025.
