Hooge – “Wassup”
Hooge is an artist who doesn’t really fit into one box. Under his real name Rutger v Poelwijck, he has been shaping a sound that mixes hip hop, melodic rap, pop, and R&B into something that feels personal but also easy to vibe with. His new single “Wassup” continues that path, and you can tell it comes from an artist who always starts with emotion first. Hooge approaches his work by asking himself what he feels and how to translate it into music, and this is why his music is unique.
Hooge is not only a performer, he is his own engineer, recording, mixing, and mastering in his home studio. That hands-on approach gives “Wassup” both polish and personality. You can hear that he is in control of the sound from start to finish, shaping it exactly how he wants.
For anyone who has caught him live across the Netherlands, from Dynamo in Eindhoven to Paard in The Hague, it is obvious his music has the same energy on stage. “Wassup” captures that drive and adds another strong release to his catalog following the “Goofy Ass Mixtape”. Stay tuned for more this year and make sure to follow Hooge on socials for the rest of 2025.
