Lazyboysadgirl – “Floating”

Lazyboysadgirl is a talented duo from London, and their latest single, “Floating”, is just one of the best tracks I discovered this month so far.

The song was recorded at home in a tiny London flat, and you can actually feel that DIY energy throughout it. Nothing feels overly polished or overthought, but in the best way. Rosie, the vocalist, laid down her parts using just a scratch mic. Those were meant to be placeholders, but they worked so well, they kept them. That kind of spontaneous choice adds to the charm of the track.

There’s this cool blend happening here, chill dance beats, off-beat hi-hats, and these hypnotic chopped-up vocals that somehow feel both mellow and rhythmic. Rosie’s vocals float over everything, and the psychedelic lyrics kind of pull you into this headspace that’s both dreamy and weirdly comforting.

BBC Introducing on Radio Bristol even gave them a shoutout, especially loving the vocals and relaxed vibe. If you’re into this kind of sound, definitely follow Lazyboysadgirl to keep up with new music coming later in 2025.
