Slow Walk – “The Mountain”

Slow Walk’s debut album, “The Mountain”, really caught my attention. It’s a one-person project. He wrote, recorded, and produced the whole thing himself at home, which is pretty impressive on its own.

The album blends synth, rock, electronica, indie, and a bit of pop, and it all somehow works together. It doesn’t feel like he tried to make a perfect record, it feels like he made something honest. My favorite track is “Don’t Carry That Weight”, it’s about letting go of mental baggage and pushing through self-doubt really landed for me. It’s simple, but powerful, and stuck with me after the first listen.

There’s also a cool backstory about how the album reflects both a friend’s literal mountain climbs and his own creative battles. He talks about juggling real life, distractions, and negativity while trying to stay focused. And the fact that he recorded it in order, without overplanning, gives the whole album a natural flow that makes it easy to listen to start to finish.

If you’re into music that feels like it means something to the person who made it, this is worth checking out. Follow Slow Walk on social media to stay in the loop for the rest of 2025.
