Darling Black – “Deep Down in the Ground”

“Deep Down in the Ground” will make you hum, and I’m sure it will stick in your head for days. Darling Black, Dylan Hundley’s solo project, leans into her love of 70s minimal dance acts and darker grooves without making it feel like a throwback. When I finish listening to the song, I consider myself a new fan of the rising artist.

There’s a looseness here, a kind of sly, streetwise confidence that keeps the track grounded while still making you want to move. It doesn’t fuss over itself, it locks in and rides the vibe. The artwork nails the mood without spelling it out, it’s just beautiful. If you like your synth pop with grit, groove, and a touch of menace, this one’s worth your ears.

Follow Darling Black online to keep up with new releases and updates throughout the rest of 2025, more is coming, and you’re not going to want to miss it.
