Broken Wolves – “Crown Of Fire”

“Crown Of Fire” is something really special from Toronto’s Broken Wolves. The band has always been good at mixing that dark folk sound with grunge elements, but here they’ve gone into shoegaze territory and it works perfectly. The guitar tones are thick and dreamy and they make these walls of sound that just wash over you. The tracks all feel like they fit together, telling a bigger story about our world and our place in it, and my favorite track is “Fool”
This EP manages to be both their most accessible and their most adventurous work. The songs work as individual pieces but the whole thing flows like one continuous experience. It’s the kind of release that sounds good whether you’re putting it on in the background or sitting down to really listen with headphones. After finishing listening the the EP, make sure to check out their previous releases here, I’m sure you will enjoy them.
Crown Of Fire feels like the perfect final statement to what Broken Wolves built over the years. It’s something that fans of gothic rock, alternative, and folk will all find something to love. Be sure to follow Broken Wolves on social media to keep up with their upcoming releases.
