Wotts – “i’ll see you when the game resets”

Wotts, the indie pop duo from Ottawa, just dropped their final single from their EP “FLANK!” titled “i’ll see you when the game resets”, and it feels like a proper way to wrap up this project. Drawing influence from Blur, Pavement, and The Strokes, it’s got that imperfect, jangly vibe that really sticks with you.

The vocals add another layer of emotion to the track, matching its reflective and hopeful tone perfectly. This track is meant to feel like a goodbye but not the end, that message comes through clearly. Compared to the rest of the EP, which leaned more on piano and synth layers, this one feels like the scrappy, emotional piece that closes the door on the story while leaving it cracked open with hope. This is not the first time we covered Wotts, because they always release good stuff.

The artwork with its bold red text and heart-covered die fits perfectly, giving off a feeling of chance and new beginnings, tying in with the idea of resetting and trying again. If you want to keep up with Wotts for more music and upcoming shows throughout 2025, make sure to follow them on social media.
