Wotts – “Better Days”

Our favorite duo Wotts just dropped “Better Days” and it’s impressive. The Ottawa duo has created something that is both dreamy and grounded at the same time. From the get-go, you have these gorgeous piano melodies that ground everything and then you have these layers of hazy guitars and shimmering synths that float around them.
The track feels personal like you’re sitting in on a late-night jam session where everything just clicks. The track is about heavy themes of loss and hoping for brighter times ahead, but it never feels overwhelming. But it wraps those emotions in these lush, atmospheric sounds that you want to put on repeat. It keeps things interesting throughout with the way the crispy drums cut through all the dreamy textures.
This is the second single from their upcoming EP “FLANK!” and if this is any indication of what’s to come, I’m excited to hear the full project. Wotts still proves they can strike a balance between melancholy and hope that feels genuine and relatable. Be sure to follow Wotts on their social media for new releases.
