Victor V. Gurbo – “Outrun the Invisible Man (Deluxe Edition)”

Victor V. Gurbo’s Outrun the Invisible Man (Deluxe Edition) is an impressive release, you can hear that homemade spirit in the recordings, because the talented artist made the album with Mark Caserta during the lockdown.

This new edition adds two extra covers, “Mr. Blue” and “I’m So Tired”, which sit alongside the original mix of six covers and six songs Victor wrote himself. One of the standouts, “I Missed You All the Same,” blends in so well with the older material that you might not realize it’s new. That kind of consistency says a lot.

The songs dig into being alone, missing someone, and trying to make sense of things, While it came out of the pandemic, it doesn’t sound stuck in that moment. It sounds more like something made by two people who know what they’re doing and kept at it until the work spoke for itself.

If you’re into honest music that skips the gloss and goes straight to the point, give this a listen. And make sure to follow Victor V. Gurbo on social media to see what else he shares in 2025.
