The Jacob Ifans Band – “She Is The Flowers”

My new favorite band, The Jacob Ifans Band, released their second single just last week, titled “She Is The Flowers”, and it’s an easy one to recommend. Coming off the success of their debut “Sun Don’t Shine”, this release feels like a natural next step for them. The band, with roots spread across rural Wales, Scotland, and London, formed in Cornwall in late 2024 and has been making a quiet but strong mark on the folk scene ever since. You can listen to “Sun Don’t Shine” here.
What I like about it is how direct and unpretentious it is, there’s no overthinking, just an honest take on memory and bittersweet moments. You can hear that folk-country blend they’ve been leaning into, and it suits the song’s theme perfectly.
Their upcoming debut album, “Eve’s Garden”, is set to drop early next year, recorded at the Old Carpet Factory Studios in Hydra, which already has me curious. If “She Is The Flowers” is anything to go by, they’re on to something worth following. Make sure to check them out on social media to keep up with what they’ve got planned for the rest of this year.
