The Color Forty Nine – “A Whisper”

I just listened to The Color Forty Nine’s new album,” A Whisper”. I’m really impressed by the lean production and rich vocals. Following their well-loved EP, “Eternally Grateful“, this album gives us nine songs that feel personal and well thought out. Each song feels like a cozy chat with a friend on a lazy morning or a calm evening.
The sound mixes new tunes with some hidden gems, it brings out a lot of feelings without going overboard. I love how the band shows their thoughtful side here, and even the dramatic reworking of Nick Cave’s Jubilee Street is handled with a respectful yet creative twist. They recorded some parts at home and some at a studio in Mexico City with a Grammy-winning sound guy, Dave Parra. The way it sounds is both smooth and genuine, you really get pulled in from the first note.
If you like music that makes you think and tells a good story, this album is for you. I’m thrilled with how it all came together, and I’m looking forward to their next energetic project, titled “A Shout”. If you want music that feels like a warm hug, check out “A Whisper”, and don’t forget to follow The Color Forty Nine on social media for updates.
