Stell and the Comedown Club – “Prekiss Eyes”

Stell and the Comedown Club are back with a new single, “Prekiss Eyes”, and I can’t stop listening. Right from the start, the song pulls you into this dreamy, nostalgic mood, like that feeling when you don’t know whether you want to stay or go. It’s got that moody, longing feeling you’d guess from a band that likes Arctic Monkeys and Cigarettes After Sex, but Stell’s twist makes it feel unique and new.

The song was written and recorded in two days, which is crazy because it sounds so polished and intentional. The guitar is amazing, a mix of soft sadness and warmth that gives off some serious Strokes energy, and it just works. The lyrics hit hard, you can feel the longing, the hesitation, that emotional push and pull of trying to move on but still being tied to a memory.

This is only the third single from Stell and the Comedown Club, and if this is any indication of what’s coming next, we’re in for something good. Seriously, if you aren’t following them already, do it now, you won’t regret it.
