Siren Section – “Medicine”
Siren Section, the longtime duo from LA, just put out a new single called “Medicine”. They’ve been working together for over two decades and you can hear how locked in their sound is. This track blends noisy electronic stuff with something more spaced out and hypnotic.
“Medicine” plays around with tension, but not in a dramatic way. It builds and then gives you a little room to breathe before tightening again. It’s not aggressive, but it’s not soft either. There’s a kind of push and pull happening that keeps it interesting the whole way through.
They’ve got a style they refer to as glitchgaze, and yeah, that tracks. You can hear the shoegaze and electronic influence for sure, but they don’t stick to one lane. There’s a rough edge to it, but it’s not messy. You can tell this wasn’t thrown together. It sounds like guys who’ve been doing this for a long time and know exactly how they want things to hit. After you are done with “Medicine”, make sure to check out other releases by Siren Section here.
This one follows their earlier single “Glass Cannon,” and both are part of a full album coming later this year. Keep an eye on their socials to stay updated on new releases in 2025.
