Ruby Walker – “Watch”

Ruby Walker’s “Watch” is one of the best tracks I discovered this week, and I’m excited to share it with you. Coming straight out of her garage-turned-studio, the track has that raw, handmade energy you don’t hear often. It’s low-key but personal in a way that makes you pay attention, and trust me, you will find yourself singing and humming.

She also takes a bit of a left turn with this one. It’s not in the usual lane she sticks to, and that shift makes the song even more interesting. Knowing it’s the first thing she wrote in open D tuning gives it an extra edge. The vocals come through with a calm, unforced kind of clarity that fits the mood perfectly.
