Rosetta West – “Dora Lee (Gravity)”

Rosetta West’s “Dora Lee (Gravity)” is wild in the best way. The guitar has this gritty, hypnotic edge that pulls you in immediately, and the rhythm section just won’t let go. Joseph Demagore’s vocals are rough and riveting, like someone shouting through static in a haunted radio broadcast. There’s something slightly unhinged in the delivery, but it’s all the more gripping because of it. You feel like you’re listening to something that wasn’t really meant to be pretty.

The video’s a trip too. A tank commander falling under the spell of ancient goddesses? It’s dark and a little absurd, but it works, especially with that music pounding underneath. It’s not trying to make everything make sense, and that’s the point.

If you’re not already following Rosetta West online, go fix that. They’ve been at this for decades, and “Gravity Sessions” sounds like it’s going to be full of gems. Stay in the loop for what they’ve got coming next in 2025.
