Our Bones – “All the Time”

Our Bones are a band from the Hudson Valley in New York, and their new single “All the Time” is just impressive, and it’s my favorite release of the day. They’ve got a sound that mixes alt-rock with some pop punk energy, this is the last single before their upcoming album and it feels like a strong preview of what’s next.

The song was first written during the pandemic, which explains the heavy subject matter, but it doesn’t feel locked in that time. The ideas of loss, frustration, and trying to cope with things that are bigger than us still connect now. You can easily hear it as a response to the constant chaos of the world today, and that makes it hit harder.

One detail I really liked was how they recorded it. Most bands track drums first, but here the drums came last with a completely different kit. That gave the song a live edge, like you’re in the room with them. They also used some sharp vocal distortion and subtle sound effects that keep the track from feeling too dark.

“All the Time” feels like both a release of tension and a lead-up to something bigger. Keep an eye on Our Bones’ socials this year to stay updated on what they release next.
