Nate Olian – “Pray for Patience”

I gave “Pray for Patience”, Nate Olian’s newest single, a listen today and wanted to share it with you. Nate teamed up with his friend CJ Rislove on this one. Yes, the same CJ who was on American Idol earlier this year. Their friendship comes through clearly in how the song comes together. CJ added background vocals and also worked on the production, which adds a nice extra layer.

The song focuses on that everyday feeling of being stuck between wanting change and having to wait for it. Nate doesn’t sugarcoat it, the message comes across in a way that feels real, like he’s working through it in the moment. He recorded everything at home using GarageBand and Logic with a simple Focusrite setup and his MacBook. That stripped-down process works for a track like this because the point is the message and the space it creates, not a big polished sound.

Nate wrote the song while thinking about how hard it can be to meet the right person. You can tell he was really sitting with those feelings. There’s no resolution tied up with a bow. Just that familiar mix of frustration and reflection, that’s probably why it’s easy to connect with.

If you give “Pray for Patience” a listen and like what he’s doing, definitely check out more of his releases. He’s finding his own way and sharing pieces of it along the way. And don’t forget to follow Nate on social media so you don’t miss what he’s working on next.
