nanashi – “False Horizons”

nanashi’s debut track “False Horizons” is a strong introduction to what this project is about. Coming out of Glasgow’s underground scene, nanashi is built around contrasts, and you can really hear that in this track. It blends electronic textures with live guitar work in a way that doesn’t feel forced. The melodic loops are subtle but stick with you, and the ambient layers create this open, almost suspended atmosphere. Then the guitar comes in with just enough grit to give it some bite without breaking that mood.

What I like is that the song doesn’t over explain itself, there’s no big “look at me” moment. It just builds this space and lets you sit in it. Knowing that nanashi’s whole thing is about removing ego and focusing on mood, this track really gets that across. It’s introspective without being heavy handed, and it leaves you thinking about that idea of chasing progress that never really arrives.

For a first release, “False Horizons” feels confident in its approach. If this is where nanashi is starting, I’m genuinely curious to see what’s next. Follow them on social media to keep up with where they take this project in 2025.
