Mandy Slate – “Home”

Mandy Slate’s new EP “Home” feels like the start of something bigger for her. She has been building her world through music, videos, and visuals for a while, and this project makes that direction clearer.

The EP kicks off with the title track “Home”, which is a little darker and more experimental than the rest. It works as an opening chapter and sets the mood for the larger story she is building with her upcoming visual album “Science Fiction”. From there, “Disaster” takes things in a more pop-focused direction, out of all the songs, that is the one that stuck with me most. It is catchy, sharp, and has the kind of energy that makes you want to play it back a few times.

“Beg” and “Silver Lining” are songs fans may already know, but in this context they feel refreshed. They are not just tacked on, they actually fit the storyline she is laying out, and the updated visuals for “Home” and “Silver Lining” make the project feel more connected.

“Home” shows Mandy leaning into her mix of playful pop and bigger storytelling ideas without losing her personality in the process. It is a short but engaging listen, and it makes you want to see where she takes things next. Be sure to follow her on socials to keep up with new releases in 2025.
