MAAME – “Sure”

From the first listen, MAAME’s debut single “Sure” hit me right in the feels, produced by Hughie Gavin (JAKL). This is something really special from this Leeds-based artist, a track that feels both personal and polished at the same time.
The song starts with these gorgeous, shimmering melodies that pull you in right away, but MAAME’s voice is the real star here, warm and soulful without being overdone. When she digs into the messy emotions of being vulnerable with someone you care about, she has this way of delivering lines that make you feel like she’s singing directly to you.
Chris Durkin’s production work adds so many nice touches without cluttering the mix. The layered harmonies make for this dreamy atmosphere that fits the song’s emotional weight. There are influences from artists like Ariana Grande and Amber Mark, but MAAME definitely has her own thing going on. She’s not trying to copy anyone, she’s just being herself, and that authenticity comes through in every note.
I’m excited to hear whatever MAAME releases next, so be sure to follow her on Instagram for new music, because she is the kind of artist you want to keep on your radar.
