Lucifers Beard – “Welcome To Loveland”

Lucifers Beard’s new EP, “Welcome to Loveland”, was released on August 8, and it’s an interesting mix of retro charm and oddball storytelling. The idea behind it, using the shiny image of a theme park to mask something darker, isn’t just a gimmick. It really comes through in the way the songs are put together.

“Space Capsule Adelaide” kicks things off and instantly pulls you into Lucifers Beard’s universe, making you want to listen to every song of the EP. From the moment it landed on my radar, I knew I must share it with you. The title track, “Loveland”, is catchy and incredible, giving you that upbeat, almost inviting vibe while hinting at something more unsettling if you pay attention. “Outside My House” might be my favorite here, it’s got this warm, analog tone that makes you want to play the replay button again and again. And then there’s “Desolation”, which slows things down in a way that makes the EP’s whole theme click.

It’s clearly a project with thought behind it, but it doesn’t come across as overly serious. It’s fun, it’s unique in the best way, and it has enough personality to keep you coming back. Definitely worth checking out, and keep an eye on Lucifers Beard’s socials for what they’ve got coming next in 2025.
