Lode Star – “The Great Beyond”

Lode Star’s “The Great Beyond” hits like a jolt of cold air in the best way, intense, unfiltered, and unexpectedly emotional. From the first few bars, there’s a heavy, almost haunting pull to it. It’s raw. The guitar work doesn’t show off, it just feels right, like it’s speaking instead of shredding. And Kate’s vocals? She doesn’t just sing the part; she lives it. There’s a moment in the track where her voice almost seems to fracture under the pressure of what the song is trying to say. That cracked edge is exactly what makes it hit so hard.

What surprised me most was how strange and eerie the synth layers get without sounding out of place. The song’s grappling with the concept of death, but it doesn’t feel like it’s trying to be deep. It just is. It’s honest, and maybe even a little scary in how close to the bone it cuts.

If you’re into darker, heavier stuff that still carries emotion without drowning in it, you’ll want to keep an eye on these two. Go follow Lode Star on social media, you’re going to want to know what they drop next in 2025.
