Little Juke – “Departures From The States Of Mind”

Little Juke’s first album, “Departures From The States Of Mind”, is the kind of release that reminds you why you fell in love with music in the first place. It’s fresh, it’s bold, and it’s packed with the kind of energy that makes you want to listen to it again and again. The album takes you through all kinds of feelings, with rich melodies, tight instrumentals, and some seriously powerful songwriting.
“Down the Rabbit Hole” kicks things off with an electrifying rush that grabs you. It’s no wonder it’s been getting radio love from the likes of John Kennedy on Radio X, the song has this catchy vibe that makes you want to move and sing along. Then there’s “When the Sea Came to Tea”, which was called the “Hot One” on XFM Exposure. It’s one of those songs that you can’t get out of your head, guaranteed.
One of my favorites has to be “No Illusions”, there’s just something unique about it, maybe it’s how real it feels, or how the band puts everything into every note, but it just hits in all the right ways.
This whole album shows how much Little Juke can do, they’ve made a sound that’s both different and familiar, mixing styles easily while still being themselves. Every song is impressive, and you can hear how much they care about every word and note.
Plus, if the music itself wasn’t exciting enough, the band is celebrating with a huge hometown show at Wolverhampton’s KK Steel Mill. If you can see them live, do it, because if this album is any indication, it’s going to be an unforgettable experience. So, make sure to follow Little Juke on social media, stream the album, and get ready to have these songs stuck in your head for a while.
