Lezzy Osbourne – “Black Widow’s Web”

Lezzy Osbourne shared with us her latest single Black Widow’s Web, and if you’re into acoustic music with a darker edge, you’ll want to check this out. The Edmonton-based queer singer-songwriter released this track on Halloween, which is perfect timing given how spooky and seductive the whole thing sounds.

This song is pretty different from her debut single Etched Within My Flesh. That first one was more raw and emotional, but Black Widow’s Web goes in a mysterious direction, and she uses these ghostly guitar plucks to set an eerie mood, and her vocals are hypnotic in the way they pull you into the story. The song is about that dangerous attraction where you sense the red flags but ignore them because you’re too drawn in. The black widow spider idea fits perfectly because it captures that split second when your instincts warn you but attraction wins out.

Lezzy handled everything on this track herself: writing, recording, mixing, and mastering. You can hear that personal touch because the whole thing flows together naturally, and she keeps it acoustic and intimate but still manages to create this cinematic feeling. It’s dark and haunting but also has these playful moments mixed in.

The story she’s telling is about beauty that pulls you in and then destroys you, and she tells it convincingly. Her voice shifts between seductive and sinister really well. There’s a music video that came out on November 7 too, which probably brings even more to the table.

If you’re new to her music, go back and listen to her other stuff. Black Widow’s Web proves she can switch up her sound while keeping that acoustic foundation. Follow Lezzy Osbourne on social media to keep up with her new releases.
