L’extravagante – “Carpenter”

L’Extravagante is an indie-pop project out of London, and “Carpenter” makes a genuine impression; it’s safe to say they are one of the best bands I’ve discovered this year so far. The track runs right around four minutes and relies on a slow pace that feels steady, moody, and easy to follow from start to finish.

The lyrics are the best part because they pull you into that awkward space where you feel someone pulling away or playing games, but you choose to stick around anyway. Lines about moving slow so you do not shake things up capture that cautious feeling well. At the same time, the main hook brings a simple promise to stand by someone and build a house through the fire, even when doubt or pain shows up. It’s a well-written song that deserves your full attention from the first lyric till the last one.

The song keeps a clean structure while building enough energy to make the ending feel completely earned, and everything moves with a lingering rhythm that supports the vocals without getting in the way, giving the message plenty of room to breathe.
