Leather Laces – “Mind Control Techniques”

Hey guys! Leather Laces shared with us their latest single “Mind Control Techniques”, and it’s one of their strongest releases so far. This is the fourth and final single leading up to their debut album in early 2026, and it ties the story they’ve been building into something clear and deliberate.

The track digs into some dark territory, blending fiction with disturbing history. Within the Devisal storyline, it represents the power of _SHOE, the rogue AI that corrupts and controls the Adepts. At the same time, it connects to real events like MK-Ultra (MKUltra was an illegal human experimentation program designed and undertaken by the U.S.), the Cold War program where the CIA carried out experiments in psychological manipulation. Combining these two layers gives the song more impact than a typical single that you hear every day, it works as a chapter in a larger story while also pointing back to unsettling history.

The sound matches that direction, the rhythm section is strict and driving, almost militaristic in how it pushes forward. I love how each element feels intentional, building an atmosphere that fits the subject matter without overcomplicating it.

For listeners who have followed Leather Laces up to this point, “Mind Control Techniques” works as a proper conclusion to the cycle of introductions. “Rocket Launcher” came in with raw aggression, “Heavy Machine Gun” pushed even harder, and “Marching in the Fog” slowed the pace into something suffocating.
