JW Paris – “Anything”

JW Paris is a three-piece band out of London and their new single “Anything” kicks off their upcoming EP with a ton of energy, the lineup includes Daniel Collins on guitar and vocals, Aaron Forde on bass and vocals, and Gemma Clarke on drums, who’s previously played with Babyshambles and Adam Ant. Right away, the track brings out a strong Britpop feel and especially if you’re into bands like Elastica or Blur.

The guitars are sharp and restless, backed by a rhythm section that keeps everything moving. The sound feels like a snapshot of 90s London, but with a current edge that doesn’t try to recreate the past too closely. There’s this steady push between confidence and disconnection, and it shows up clearly in the lyrics, and lines like “I could be anything, but everything is nothing” and “Don’t try to bring me down and make me feel this way” tap into a kind of frustration that’s easy to relate to.

If you’ve been looking for a track that sounds like it was made by people who actually care about their sound, give this one a listen. Follow JW Paris on social media to catch what’s next later this year.
