J Terrell – “Golden Hour”
J Terrell just released his cover of “Golden Hour”, and it’s a really solid move for him. After putting out his album Cowboy Tango, he’s taking a step back to do what he was originally known for, covers and karaoke performances, and his fans actually requested this, which makes sense because that’s how a lot of people discovered him in the first place.
This release is completely different from the pop direction he’s been heading toward with his upcoming project. He’s basically giving himself a break from all the new stuff he’s working on and returning to the kind of music that first inspired him. You can tell he needed this creatively because he mentions being really hard on himself, and this was just fun for him. He got to exist in the music without overthinking it.
J Terrell isn’t trying to prove anything here or follow whatever’s popular. He’s just doing a song he loves. It’s his favorite space to be in, both as a vocalist and in terms of where he is in his career. For anyone who’s been following him since the early days, this one’s going to resonate. If you’re into his work, definitely follow J Terrell on social media to keep up with everything he’s got coming in 2026.
