Innocent Darkness – “Dominion of The Stars”

The dark cover art for “Dominion of the stars” sets a heavy mood right away. That hooded figure standing in the dark forest in front of a glowing shape on a stone altar gives off a mysterious feel that fits the deep electronic sounds inside.

Across all nine songs, “Innocent Darkness” brings a lot of real feeling. “The Ghost City” is a big favorite for me on this release, drawing you right into its shadowy room. The rest of the tracklist keeps that same dark mood going, moving through “one”, “You now,The Circle is Round”, “The demon in the musicbox”, “Noize”, “Black Star In The Sky”, “Ambient Down Sound”, “1 is eenzaam, het wil meer”, and closing out with “Party Gods”.

Knowing that “Dominion of the stars” was made at home to remember the artist’s mother who passed away gives the whole thing a very deep, real feeling.
