I.D.K. – “Nark 5”

North Jersey punk band I.D.K. released their new single Nark 5 on November 21, 2025 through Scorpion Records. It’s their first original song since 2008, which makes this release a pretty big deal for anyone who has followed them over the years.

The track takes its inspiration from Season 1 of Star Wars: Andor, zeroing in on the prison break storyline set on Narkina 5. Writing from the perspectives of Cassian Andor, using his alias Keef Girgo, and Kino Loy gives the song a clear direction. I like that the band committed to a specific moment from the series rather than keeping things vague. It gives the whole track a strong sense of purpose.

You can hear that intention in the soaring vocals and the driving guitars. The dynamics build in a way that mirrors the tension of that storyline, and it all comes together in a way that feels focused and deliberate, and this is why i like the song at first place.

It also sets things up for their upcoming EP in 2026, so this isn’t a one-off. With an official video on the way as well, there’s more to look forward to soon. If you’re curious about where I.D.K. is heading next, make sure to follow them on social media and keep up with their releases this year.
