HOMEGIRL! – “MEAT HEAD”

I spent my day listening to HOMEGIRL!’s newest release “MEAT HEAD” before writing about my thoughts regarding this album. The album presents an original moment that displays authentic DIY music production values while escaping ordinary conventions. The raw authentic vibe that all music lovers want appears throughout the album because its creators drew inspiration from legendary producers Madlib and J-Dilla as well as MF Doom.
“The Narrated by Werner Herzog” stands out to me as one of the strongest tracks from the album. It’s not just a song; it’s an experience that makes you ponder and reflect, showcasing the group’s belief that music is a personal journey and should always stay true to itself. The way they recorded this album is pretty cool too, they used field recorders and had these intimate bedroom sessions on Ableton Live. The contemporary music industry lacks this innovative sound which originates from such an approach.
The current wave of synthetic pop production makes “MEAT HEAD” stand out because musicians follow their artistic authenticity to create rich musical expressions. I absolutely love this album, and I think you will too. So, show some love to HOMEGIRL! by following them online to stay updated about upcoming releases and shows in 2025.
