Headmaster – “Seasons Vol.4 : Spring”

There’s something really unique about “Seasons Vol.4 : Spring” by Headmaster, and this is why I love it in the first place, and I’m pretty sure you will enjoy it as much as I did. The vocals are stunning and easy to follow and the production is super clean.

Headmaster’s background adds a quiet depth to the album. Coming from North Wales and later settling into London’s music scene, there’s a mix of grounded storytelling and a wider, more open perspective. You can sense that this project has been building for years, especially since some of these ideas trace back to earlier work with his band Firetown. My favorites are “Didn’t Even Know Their Name”, “The Willow Seed”, and “April Days”.

I just love how the album reflects the idea of renewal without spelling it out too directly. It’s part of a bigger four-part series tied to the seasons, and this chapter has a lighter, more hopeful energy. It doesn’t push too hard to make a point and it just settles into that feeling of change and growth in a way that feels honest. Another thing that stands out is the intention behind the project. Headmaster isn’t just making music for the sake of it. There’s a real-world connection through his work in education and his efforts to support mental and physical health charities. That purpose gives the album an extra layer, even if you’re just casually listening.

By the time the record wraps up, it leaves a good impression. It feels complete, like the final piece of a story that has been unfolding across all four releases. It’s the kind of album you can return to when you want something steady and thoughtful without being overwhelming.

For me, this is a really satisfying way to close out the “Seasons” series. If you haven’t listened to the earlier volumes yet, it’s definitely worth going back and hearing how it all connects, and I’d also suggest keeping up with Headmaster going forward, since there’s clearly a lot more to come in the rest of this year.
