Gerr Walsh – “Silverfish”

The Dublin-based indie folk artist Gerr Walsh has a knack for pulling you into his world with a sound that’s familiar but never tired. With “Silverfish”, he taps into that fleeting feeling of chasing inspiration. It’s not spelled out for you, but the vibe says a lot.

The track has a dreamy, cinematic feel without getting too heavy. There’s a strong lineup behind it too, Keith Duffy holds it down on bass, Adam Marcello’s drumming is subtle but tight, and Max Greenwood brings in some really nice piano layers. Naimee Coleman’s backing vocals are ghostly in the best way. They kind of float in and out, adding a whole extra layer to the mood. It’s polished, but not in a way that loses the human side of it, you can hear the indie-folk core, but it’s mixed with this modern, low-key pop thing that works really well.

“Silverfish” is also a preview of what’s coming on Gerr’s second album, set for Spring 2026. If you’re curious to hear where his sound is heading, this is a solid place to start. Follow Gerr Walsh on social media to stay in the loop for the rest of 2025.
