E.Z.O. – “Spring Steppa”
E.Z.O. has put out a great EP with “Spring Steppa”. Making music out of Brooklyn, he spent the last couple of years handling different life trials and triumphs while figuring out his artistic identity. This new EP shows off a refined vision, mixing his older creative instincts with a mature perspective. He recorded the project at Record House in Astoria, Queens, working hand in hand with engineer Mark Matter to lock in the right energy. The final record has a calm, refreshing atmosphere. It is an honorary sequel to his 2024 project “PHASED” and serves as a major stepping stone toward his upcoming debut album, “Suburban urban”.
You can hear nods to classic R&B and UK greats like Jagged Edge, Donell Jones, Craig David, 3LW, and Mostack. E.Z.O. blends a nostalgic flavor with a contemporary edge. The collaboration across this EP is natural, bringing together musical friends who inject their own distinct swagger. Kushton Dior brings Bay Area flavor, while New York artists RACH from Manhattan and Naveed Ahmed from Queens offer different viewpoints that fit the vibe perfectly.
I love this release. The way the music balances a search for personal peace with a clear step forward is wonderful. If you enjoy this sound, you should check out his previous releases to see how his catalog has evolved. E.Z.O. is building up to big milestones, including a plan to perform at DreamCon in Houston, Texas to preview ideas for his next step.
