C’batch – “Our Little Pooh Pea (The Last Light) 4”

When it comes to creating new music from old ideas, Stephen H. Cumberbatch (aka C’batch) has a cool process. He frequently revisits his archive of recordings and creates new soundscapes based on them. The same habit is what inspired his instrumental track “Our Little Pooh Pea (The Last Light) 4 – Cinematic”.

This is the primary part of the track, which he recorded as a solo guitar line over another song of his entitled “Round & Round”. He was pleased with the performance and removed it from that first position and created an entirely new world around it, allowing his instrument to lead. The play is surrounded by soft electronic textures and ambient layers, creating a wide and spacious mood.

There are no lyrics, so you can add your own thoughts to the music. The title evokes a transition or a transformation, such as that peaceful place between the end and the beginning. It might be used in the end of a movie or simply left on while you’re driving home late at night. It sits nicely between dream pop, ambient and experimental without sacrificing the human quality of the guitar.

The track comes from his EP Our Little Pooh Pea (The Last Light). Check out C’batch on social media to keep up with his new releases in 2026.
