Carla Patullo – “Nomadica”

Carla Patullo’s new album titled “Nomadica”, is one of those projects that makes you interested from the first song to the last one. The album was inspired by the loss of her mother, and it shows, not in a heavy way, but in a way that’s raw and really honest. You can tell she went all-in emotionally, and it comes through in the music.
There’s a lot going on here, from strings and ambient sounds to things like water and wind, which she mixes in so naturally it never feels like a gimmick. It actually works to put you in her headspace. You’re not just listening, you’re kind of sitting in this imaginary place she created, sorting through loss and memory with her.
Tracks like “Our Love Is” and “Nomadica” feel like they’re holding a lot of quiet pain and longing, but they’re not hopeless. Later songs like “Fly Under”, especially with Martha Wainwright, really stick in your head, you feel the push toward healing. “Fly Under” is definitely my favorite. It feels like the emotional resolution the whole album is building toward.
If you’re into music that’s thoughtful and has something real behind it, “Nomadica” is worth your time. Follow Carla Patullo on social media to stay in the loop on what else she’s got coming in 2025.
