Bog Witch – “Hatter’s Mad Emporium”

Bog Witch’s “Hatter’s Mad Emporium” is a twisted little funhouse of a folk track, equal parts theatrical and unhinged in the best way. Bog Witch clearly had no interest in playing it safe here, and that’s exactly what makes this thing stick. It’s not your typical indie folk or folk pop tune; it leans into that psychedelic corner and refuses to let go. The layers aren’t trying to be tidy or precious; they feel like they’re unraveling and reassembling themselves mid-song, kind of like if Wonderland had a house band in a half-collapsing costume tent.
Bog Witch’s vocals are eerie in a way that creeps up on you, playful but unsettling, like a character who knows more than they’re letting on. I love the energy of this release, the whole thing manages to feel both deeply uncomfortable and weirdly charming, like you’re peeking into someone’s fever dream and deciding to stay a little longer just to see what happens next.
