Audren – “The Good Road”

Audren already known as both a songwriter and an award-winning novelist, she brings the same depth of expression into this track. It falls into the indie pop and soft rock space, but more than that, it feels like a story she needed to tell.
She has explained that the song was born out of nostalgia, written at a time when she felt she had lost her sense of wonder and even trust in people. That perspective gives “The Good Road” an honesty that makes it easy to connect with. Rather than sounding like a polished exercise, it is more of an open call for solidarity and the reminder that beauty and togetherness still matter.
Her longtime partner, Chris Rime, adds a hypnotic guitar line that really wraps around the song, while the Hammond organ and Beatles nod give it a vintage edge. By the end, gospel-inspired backing vocals turn the track from something intimate into something uplifting, as if moving from a personal reflection to a collective message of hope.
“The Good Road” works as both a healing ballad and a glimpse of what is ahead. Follow Audren on social media to stay updated on her upcoming album “Think Freedom”, due in November 2025.
