Annika Bellamy – “Palm Tree”

Annika Bellamy has roots that run deep. As the niece of Tony “T-Bone” Bellamy, lead guitarist for 70s band Redbone, she grew up with music as more than a hobby. It was just part of life. That kind of background tends to show up in the work eventually, and with “Palm Tree”, you get a sense that she’s not chasing anything. She’s just making the song she wanted to make. It’s one of the talented artists I’ve covered this month so far.

Released in April 2026, and trust me, you need to add it to your summer playlist. Annika recorded this piece in her home studio after returning from a Japan and Philippines tour, you can hear the distance in it.

The melodies are light and the mood stays consistent from start to finish. It’s the kind of song you put on when you want to stop thinking for a few minutes. Whether that’s under a palm tree, in a park, or just sitting somewhere quiet, it travels well. “Palm Tree” is a good reminder that not every release needs to be a statement. Sometimes a song just needs to make you feel a little better than you did before pressing play. This one does that.

If you haven’t heard Annika’s earlier work, go back and start there. And follow Annika Bellamy to keep up with her Cherry Blossom Tour album and everything else she has planned for later this year.
