Robert McGinty – “Reflections”

Manchester-based musician Robert McGinty has done it again with his sophomore album “Reflections”, released in February. As a follow-up to his debut “Chanson à La Lune“, this collection showcases just how versatile and talented Robert really is.
I’m blown away by how Robert handles everything on this album, composing and performing every single track himself. The diversity of sounds here is impressive, jumping from classical piano pieces inspired by Vivaldi and Haydn to Spanish guitar tracks that transport you straight to Andalusia.
My favorite track is “Encantada” and then there are pieces like “Ebbing Tides” and “The Whimsical Waltz” that will make want to hear the whole album from the first second to the last one, and you should you do it, because we don’t get releases like this one every day. “Reflections” walks this cool tightrope between classical music and contemporary sensibilities. The album doesn’t try to revolutionize classical music – instead, it infuses traditional forms with McGinty’s own personality and modern touches that make everything feel current and relevant.
I’ve had this album on repeat for days now, finding myself drawn to different tracks depending on my mood. Some pieces uplift with their joyful melodies, while others offer more contemplative, melancholic moments. That emotional range makes “Reflections” perfect for various listening situations.
If you’re into classical music with a twist or just appreciate brilliant musicianship, you should definitely give “Reflections” a listen. And be sure to follow Robert McGinty on social media to keep up with this rising Manchester talent.
