Palejoy – “Max Payne Au Chocolat”

I must say that PALEJOY’s “Max Payne Au Chocolat” is a total gem. Right from the start, the guitar line pulls you in, which is exactly what you want for a song that is as fun as it is deep. The track is upbeat and catchy, but the lyrics are about love and betrayal. It’s the kind of song that makes you want to sing along but also makes you think, pretty impressive balance. If you like Microwave, Hot Mulligan, or Jimmy Eat World, you’ll get this one immediately, but there’s something special about PALEJOY’s spin on those feelings.

The production is impressive, Ewan Simpson captures the raw energy and Mark Morrow’s mix gives it the right amount of kick without going overboard. It has that rawness and sophistication at the same time. If you are not following PALEJOY, make sure to follow them on social media and keep an eye on their future works. This is one band you’ll want to hear more from, and I’m sure they will be releasing more music soon.
