I really like Bagedai’s self-titled album! Released on May 30, 2024, this debut album captures the vibrant energy of a live performance, recorded at the historic Yunnan Publishing House Studio in Kunming. The band’s lineup of twelve musicians, including five lead singers, brings a unique blend of traditional Wa music with modern instrumentation. Their improvisational interactions add a subtle groove to the album, making it a joyful experience from start to finish.

Notably, the album retains the authentic feel of a Wa village hoedown, thanks to the untuned vocals that lend a human touch.
