Private Practice – “Private Practice”

Hearing the debut release “Private Practice” brings a cozy warmth when winter snow falls hard outside. Musician Landis Wine created this set of songs during a cold stretch of winter storms on the coast. Working alone at home, he grabbed an acoustic guitar, found an open tuning by pure accident, and started recording everything on his own terms. For more than ten years, he had not tried writing a complete batch of songs by himself. He embraced an open and raw process. The final result combines indie rock and sleepy late night pop into something remarkably honest and unpolished. This wonderful project connects with early days of experimenting on an old four track recorder and learning to manage every single instrument independently. Without chasing any artificial perfection, the creator allowed each track to grow naturally on its own unique path.

Every single song on the album holds its own distinct personality and calm charm. The record opens with “Kords”, setting a calm mood with open tuned acoustic guitar work. Another absolute favorite is “Get Real Dumb”, which hits with great energy and messy textured sounds. The music blends acoustic strings with subtle electronic tones and steady rhythms. There is also a wild guest vocal appearance from Kelsey Hulvey adding a sharp scream on one of the songs, showing how willing Wine is to experiment and let things stay a bit rough around the edges. Jeff Zeigler handled the mastering, giving the audio warmth while keeping all the rough edges completely intact without losing any emotional honesty or raw power.

For anyone wanting more great music from this project, make sure to check out the previous single “Letter Interrupt“, which the artist included right inside this full album release. It captures that same winter studio vibe and proves how much power lives in keeping recordings loose and honest, and listening closely reveals layers of genuine feeling in every melody, creating a deeply rewarding experience for anyone who appreciates thoughtful artistry.
