SANTA CLAWS – “Sands of time”

Santa Claws released their new album, Sands of Time. This indie rock and Britpop group from Ploumagoar, Brittany, put together eight strong tracks that mix alternative energy with melodic style. This second full-length record arrives nine years after their self-titled debut album, which was produced by Greg Gordon.

You can hear a shared passion for British indie culture in every song, and the group draws inspiration from bands like The Beatles, Radiohead, Oasis, Supergrass, and The Breeders, creating an alt-rock sound that is both electric and refined. The record features crunchy guitars, detailed arrangements, and rich analog textures. They really care about capturing a warm, authentic sound. To celebrate the arrival of the album, they recorded a live showcase straight onto analog tape at Studio Kerwax. That performance highlights how much they love playing live music in its purest form.

For this new chapter, guitarist Stéphane Kérihuel joined the group as their fifth permanent member. His playing brings extra depth and dynamic energy alongside the other members: Greg Aubert, Antoine Montgaudon, Teddy Moisan, and Julien Pinel. The songs bridge the gap between gritty nineties urban energy and intimate melancholic moments. It all sounds very natural and tight. My favorites are “Rainy day” and “Rescue me”.

If you enjoy guitar-driven music with plenty of character, you will want to check out this record. Make sure to follow Santa Claws on social media to stay updated on all their new releases in this year.
