Lyndo Jaco – “3”

Lyndo Jaco is a solo singer-songwriter who plays every instrument and recorded this EP at home in a studio overlooking a garden. The music comes across warm, clear, and easy to follow, leaving out the messy clutter of earlier songs. A big reason for that clean sound is the new set of bass and guitar amps used during recording, which give the guitars a very distinct tone.

The songs pull heavily from classic hard rock and southern rock. The idea behind the tracks comes from following a sports team through a rough patch while waiting for a win. That connects to a story about a bungling thief desperate for money, taking a trippy view of life as if everything were set in a sandpit. My favorite is “Feeling”.

The arrangements feel steady and unhurried. The quiet home space and fresh gear give the whole project a warm, personal touch. It makes for an enjoyable listen if you like straightforward rock writing with a fun storyline.
