Lisa Michelle Anderson – “Spend A Little Time”

“Get to Somewhere” by Lisa Michelle Anderson is a wonderful album that feels real, warm, and honest. You can hear all the places she has lived, from growing up in Southeast Kansas to spending time in Australia and Greece. She also spent years playing live in a rough San Diego biker bar and at Silver Dollar City in Missouri. All those life stories give her songs a grounded, authentic feeling that keeps you listening from start to finish.

Johnny Irion produced the record, and Paul Kolderie mixed it. They gave the sound a clean and natural mix. Her voice gets plenty of room to shine without anything getting in the way. It feels like she is sitting in the room with you, telling stories about her life and the open road.

Out of the whole tracklist, two songs stand out as my personal favorites: “Part-Time Preacher” and “Cowboy Heart”. Both tracks have catchy melodies that stay in your head for days. The rest of the songs fit together nicely, including “California Dreamin'”, “Spend a Little Time”, “Dance Away”, “One in a Million”, “Horseshoe Tavern”, “Gonna Be Alright”, and “The Wire”. I like how the whole album flows naturally without any weak moments.

Lisa’s dad handed her a guitar when she was young and taught her to draw outside the lines. Her mom passed down a love for travel and good stories. You can feel both influences in every single track on this release. Years of playing live shows built a strong connection between her and her listeners, and that experience shows on every song.

If you like good folk and country rock music, you should definitely check out her previous releases too. Make sure to follow Lisa Michelle Anderson to stay updated about new releases for the rest of this year!
